Wanchese North Carolina is just west of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. It is a working harbor that went through some cosmetic changes after hurricane Sandy. Although it is somewhat modernized now photographically speaking it still offers many classic maritime scenes.
In the early morning hours is the best time to catch the boats about to leave the harbor. I was lucky enough to catch a morning with light fog and a steady rain. The fog limited the visibility of some of the pictures and the rain added color saturation to the docks and foreground objects.
